SharpScan: PDF scanner + OCR App Reviews

I needed to get good pics of documents and receipts. I tried 8 or 9 of the so-called "top scanner apps" and the were all mediocre at best. I usually have trouble keeping the iPad steady for detailed receipts and this has great stabilization. It also captures really well in lower light. Super easy to send to cloud storage (box, Dropbox and other I think). That part is so much faster and simpler than other apps.

Produces high quality scans and easily creates multi page PDFs. Perfect.

My requirement was simple: make a picture of a document look like it was scanned and then email that document. This app did that very easily. There was no learning curve at all and the end product was clean and professional looking.

Very nice app

This is the one to get. I use SharpScan to digitize bound 200+ page file wrappers at an intellectual property law firm. It takes little more than an hour to scan that much once you get the hang of it. The interface isnt quite as polished as Genius Scan, but when you take into account both the reduced input requirements for each page and the faster, more accurate processing, this app is about twice as fast for multipage scanning.

OCR in English tested out *very* well. After you are convinced of the OCR accuracy you must pay the $3 extra to be able to copy the text or email it or send it in any way. I esp. like the save, PDF, and Dropbox cloud share features. Went for PRO. I tried 4 other scan & OCR apps (there are SO many!); this one did a good job with keeping paragraph and spacing formats like the original image. :HIGHLY:RECOMMENDED: ...iPhone 5S w/ iOS 8.3 test

Both Sharp Scan and Pro version stopped working on iphone6 after OS9 update on phone!
